The Beat Goes On is proud to present the eleventh installment of our series dedicated to showcasing the music of a generation. Following on such diverse evenings as The Brill Building, The Rat Pack, Hullabaloo and Nuggets, The Beat Goes On presents "Summer in the City", a soundtrack of summertime favorites from the Beach Boys to the Ramones.
Summer in the City, days spent at Coney Island and hot sultry evenings spent in outdoor cafes and parks. Songs like "Surf City", "Rockaway Beach", "Who Loves the Sun" , "Groovin", "Good Day Sunshine", "I Live for the Sun", "Summer Rain", "School's Out for Summer", "Sugar Shack", "Hot Fun in the Summertime", "Walkin on Sunshine", "Vacation" and of course "Summer in the City" float across the airwaves. The Beat Goes On presents these and many other summer tunes in a show hosted by Tish and Snooky and featuring some of today's hottest musical talents including Chris Barron , Willie Nile, Patti Rothberg, Gary Lucas, Joe Hurley, Michael Cerveris, Carlton Smith, Chris Campion, Bette Sussman, Elaine Caswell, Lisa Burns and many more backed by an all star band.
